"EXTRA MILE" Bits

Continue to ask God, "What must I do in this situation?"
And wait for God to respond.

PRAYERS FOR LIFE August gives us three great Marian feasts: August 5th, the Commemoration of the dedication of the Papal Basilica of St. Mary Major in Rome, August 15th the Assumption of Our Lady, body and soul, into Heaven, August 22nd, the coronation of Our Lady as Queen of Heaven and Earth. Because she willingly obeyed God's will, we turn to her to seek her intercession as we work to obtain protection for His creation of all human life, from womb to tomb.

Tuesday, the 22nd, the Church celebrates the Feast of the Coronation of Our Lady, as Queen of Heaven and Earth. Why is this important? Holy Mother the Church recognizes her as virgin Most Powerful. She is our advocate as we plead for peace and all our other needs. Please pray that she send her angels to protect our troops serving in the armed forces and law enforcement. Our Lady Queen of Angels, pray for us.

Greeters

We gather for the Mass as a Parish family to worship and give thanks. This Fall we are starting a Greeter Ministry. Those involved will welcome others into the church before Mass just as you would welcome guests into your home. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Deacon Ken at kmoney@syrdio.org.

Students in the Confirmation program that are active in this Ministry with their family can count their involvement as service hours.

Catholic Women's Health Care and Natural Family Planning

The Syracuse Diocese is home to a network of practitioners and doctors who specialize in a system of authentic women's health care known as the Creighton Model FertilityCare System. This system empowers women and couples to gain vital information about their health and fertility. It can be used for natural family planning as well as the diagnosis and treatment of infertility and various other women's health issues. Women of all reproductive ages are encouraged to explore this system as a means of better understanding and monitoring their own health as well as appreciating the great gift of their fertility. For couples, it is an effective and fulfilling means of building their families in a manner that is in complete conformity with Catholic Church teaching. (Method effectiveness rate for avoiding pregnancy is 99.5%, and success rates for overcoming infertility are equal to or greater than that of In Vitro Fertilization.) Introductory Sessions of the Creighton Model Fertility Care System are available by appointment. Please contact the Fertility Care Choices at 315-488-3139 ext. 16 or www.fertilitycarechoices.com
