How to pray? Show up regularly and routinely.

PRAYERS FOR LIFE My heart isn't in it...with my heartfelt sympathy...the heart of the a heartbeat. How often we use one word to express our emotions, our beliefs. Especially in June, we reaffirm our trust in the patron of our parish, Sacred Heart of Jesus. Best of all in this time of chaos, in our homes, in our communities, in our nation, and in our world we can say Oh Sacred Heart of Jesus, we place our trust in you.

As we continue our Rosaries and sacrifices in reparation for the continuing insults and lashes to the merciful Sacred Heart, we pray for our recent graduates. May they have the strength, courage and perseverance to seek God's will for them. Oh Sacred Heart of Jesus, we place our trust in you.

We gather for the Mass as a Parish family to worship and give thanks. This Fall we are starting a Greeter Ministry. Those involved will welcome others into the church before Mass just as you would welcome guests into your home. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Deacon Ken at Students in the Confirmation program that are active in this Ministry with their family can count their involvement as service hours.

I will be leaving Sacred Heart Parish at the end of the month. This Sunday will be my last weekend with all of you. For reasons of health, I will be entering semi-retirement and have accepted, with Bishop Cunningham's permission, an offer from the Benedictine monks of Mount Saviour Monastery in Pine City, New York (near Elmira, in the Diocese of Rochester) to be their priest- chaplain. Please pray for me in this transition and know that I will be praying for all of you.

God Bless you!

Father Darr

Catholic Women's Health Care and Natural Family Planning

The Syracuse Diocese is home to a network of practitioners and doctors who specialize in a system of authentic women's health care known as the Creighton Model FertilityCare System. This system empowers women and couples to gain vital information about their health and fertility. It can be used for natural family planning as well as the diagnosis and treatment of infertility and various other women's health issues. Women of all reproductive ages are encouraged to explore this system as a means of better understanding and monitoring their own health as well as appreciating the great gift of their fertility. For couples, it is an effective and fulfilling means of building their families in a manner that is in complete conformity with Catholic Church teaching. (Method effectiveness rate for avoiding pregnancy is 99.5%, and success rates for overcoming infertility are equal to or greater than that of In Vitro Fertilization.) Introductory Sessions of the Creighton Model Fertility Care System are available by appointment. Please contact the Fertility Care Choices at 315-488-3139 ext. 16 or

What are Small Groups? Small Groups is where our large church becomes small. Groups are 6- 12 people who meet to discuss faith, go deeper in the weekly mes- sage, and support one another in their relationship with Christ This is the place to care for others and be cared for; a place to impact our community and the world. Small Groups are a great place to explore, ask questions, and grow.

In January we will be starting small groups here at Sacred Heart and would like to invite you to get involved! Please go to our website and fill out a seven-question survey (below) and someone will contact you to help you get started. It is simple, easy, and only takes a few minutes, but it will change your life! Any questions see Dc. Ken after mass or call the office!
